CMBM-Israel is initiating innovative programs that support soldiers and the families of hostages.

IDF Reserve soldiers will soon be able to benefit from the Center for Mind-Body Medicine’s Self-care tools to alleviate PTSD. Workshops are led by IDF Reserve Psychologist Danny Frank experienced in providing for Mental Health of IDF Special Forces

IDF Reserve Psychologist Danny Frank: “I’ve worked with reservists throughout the war from all corners of the IDF, processing the experiences of the war individually and in teams”.

Families of Returned Hostages have been subjected to incalculable levels of continuous stress since their loved ones were abducted on Oct. 7. Many have been forced to deal with their own personal trauma while heroically standing on the front-line of efforts to bring back the hostages. Now, with the prayed-for return of hostages becoming reality, CMBM-Israel is expanding activities that focus on their needs.

David and Varda Goldstein of Kfar Aza, who lost their son and granddaughter and whose daughter-in-law and three grandchildren had been abducted into Gaza in Hamas’ attack on October 7:

“Sixty-one of our friends were murdered and burnt in their homes, including my 48-year-old son, Nadav and 20-year-old Yam. My daughter-in-law, Chen, 48, and my three grandchildren, Agam, 18, Gal, 11 and Tal, 9, were brutally kidnapped by Hamas and taken to the Gaza Strip”.

Workshops will be led by CMBM-Israel team of experienced professionals including:

Clinical Director. Dr. Rhonda Adessky: “We work mostly in small groups, of 6-8 people with two professional group leaders in each. There is no labeling as facilitators or participants, who come to see themselves and others as equals and feel comfortable sharing perspectives in a safe setting of mutual concern.” Group facilitator Dr. Ronit Eilon, herself a resident of Kfar Aza, emphasized the power of Small Groups. People “see that they are not alone in their suffering. They quickly adopt a team mentality, supporting each other in order to move the healing work ahead, creating the basis for a wider, healing community. It’s amazing to see how these tools can raise a person’s soul in only 3 days.
